In Thailand there is a wonderful saying: “Same, same but different” meaning similar, but with a slight variation. With Thai massage, our approach is that whilst it is similar to all the styles taught in Thailand, both in the North (considered gentler, and more popular in North America) and South of the country (Bangkok style which is faster and can sometimes be more intense), our practitioners bring their own unique twists to it depending on where they were trained initially and all the nuances they learned along the way.
At Bahn Thai Spa we believe in sharing this knowledge. We are affiliated with ITM in Chiang Mai, Thailand and established our School here in Toronto in 2014. We are proud of the advances that both our Students and Apprentices have made since then. Our Level 1 program is 30 hours in length. We have full and part-time courses on offer and as part of the Bahn Thai community, we pride ourselves on the sharing of knowledge through onsite student practices. In this way you have an opportunity learn techniques from other teachers and practitioners.
We are the first school of Traditional Thai Massage in North America to offer paid Student Thai massages to the public as well as an Apprentice Program should you wish to join our staff permanently at the end of your studies.
ITM is accredited by the Thailand Ministry of Education, approved by the Thailand Ministry of Public Health and recognized and approved internationally by many professional colleges and associations for continuing education in the regulated healthcare field, including NHPC, NCBTMB, Thai Healing Alliance International (THAI) and their courses can be used towards CEU's with CMTO under the Option A Modalities.
